SOLIDARITY ACTION IN MU CANG CHAI
In early August 2017, Mu Cang Chai suffered floods following torrential rains, causing the death of at least 9 people and the disappearance of dozens of others. Many homes and structures were damaged as well as communication routes.
Wishing to support the affected populations, our agency Images Travel – Mekong Villages has chosen to come to the aid of the city of Mù Cang Chải, in particular the children of the Séo Di Hồ nursery and primary school. This school welcomes nearly 507 H’mong students from 7 surrounding villages (400 boarding students including a CP class: 98 students, a CE1 class: 100 students, a CE2 class: 96 students; a CM1 class: 103 students; and a CM2 class: 110 students).
So we organized in the weeks that followed a trip to reach this small village located at the top of the hills. With the financial, material and human help of our suppliers, our guides and the staff of our agency, we were able to mobilize many forces to participate in this day full of meaning. Among other things, we were able to bring pens, notebooks, school bags, boards, and a large TV as an educational support. Through this one-off action, we especially wanted to show our compassion and support for this H’Mong village. The day was very rich in emotions, with a lot of sharing and smiles.
